National Gallery of Ireland Refurbishment

Description of Works

Winthrop were appointed as the mechanical and specialist protective mist systems to this very prestigious project. The construction of a new temporary boiler house was to allow enabling works progress for the main underground New Energy Centre. This generated heating through new boilers, cooling through ICE banks and also housed the new Hi Fog Mist and fire suppression system which provided fire protection throughout the gallery. Included also was a full upgrade of the ventilation systems for the Dargan, Milltown and BEIT galleries c/w new air handling plant, the existing chilled water system is also been upgraded and expanded. All the works were detailed on BIM which we as the contractor have to update with all proposed services prior to installation.
