Google – European HQ, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Winthrop were awarded the M&E Services element of the works contract for the new Google headquarters in Barrow St, Dublin having previously completed the base building. This project is one of the most prestigious fit-out in recent years, and provides for the high specification fitout across 14 floors of office space. This project has been designed to achieve a LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design)platinum accreditation, the internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. This building stands at an impressive 67 meters high, and comprises of 210,000 square feet of office space. Winthrop have already completed the original shell and core and some fitout works for this iconic building, and therefore are in an ideal position to perform the extensive fitout requirements for Google Ireland. The fitout includes 2 floor of fully functional kitchen and restaurants to cater for circa 1,000 people as well as a gym and swimming pool facilities. To enhance its’ energy efficiency accreditation, a CHP plant is being installed.
