As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact, we’re beginning the process of migrating our site plant and generators from diesel to HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil)
Why are we making the switch?
HVO offers a significant environmental advantage compared to diesel, releasing:
- Around 90% less CO₂ per litre
- 27% less NOx per litre
This change will save substantial amounts of CO₂ over the coming years and will be a major contributor in helping us achieve our company climate targets while also meeting evolving sustainability requirements from our clients.
This is a big step forward for Winthrop and an exciting milestone in our journey towards greener, more sustainable construction. Further updates will follow as the rollout progresses.
